The breakfast show essay

Breakfast takes an in depth look behind the day's headlines, with interviews and information about issues and events that affect New Zealanders. They also take a look at the latest sports action, with highlights and analysis of overnight events and issues that make the news, while ONE News Correspondents bring you up to date with health and politics. Breakfast is hosted by Paul Henry and Pippa Wetzell. Peter Williams and Ali Mau read the Breakfast news. Francesca Rudkin tells us about the entertainment news, and reports on the latest art and drama from here and around the world. The show is aired at 6:00 am on TV 1.

The breakfast show audience would include:
Innovators those with large disposable income, and they are people who enjoy
The finer things in life. They are successful and sophisticated, Thinkers the category of people who are motivated by ideals. Order, knowledge and responsibility are important to them. They are well educated. With reasonable incomes, Achievers those that are motivated by the desire to succeed and are goal orientated, Strivers those who want to be something, but can’t quite get there, they are active consumers (as much as allows), The Next Generation those from the age of 10-14, this category accounts for 9% of the group above the age of 10, Comfortable Full Nesters Those with a higher income, older and are family orientated, Affluent Acquirers Young people between the age of 15-39 they’re active consumers in all forms and Liberal Sophisticates those that are well off and informed.

The ads are to suit a more older, mature audience. The fact that the advertising and the network pays their salaries means that everything that every word said has to be carefully planned not to offend the network, the companies advertising during the breaks etc. There was one time when a news reporter made a comment about going off and making a coffee during the ads, and not watching them, and then after the next ad break, came back on and made a formal apology for saying that, making the remark that "You watch the ads, because the ads pay my wages" Showing just how much influence the 2 aspects have over each other
In conclusion I think Breakfast is a good show to watch to see what's going on here and around the world. And start the day informed and entertained. I also think that breakfast attracts a wide range of audience because there is something in it for everyone wheather its breaking news, sports, entertainment or current affairs.
